About The Position: The Advanced Data Transport Solution Architect is a member of the Mobile Broadband Evolution Incubation team. This team is accountable for new product and service concepts in our Mobile Broadband portfolio. The Solution Architect will be responsible for all systems level design and architecture requirements specifications for both Mobile Provider Services and Rich Media service applications. The Solution Architect must have a complete and deep understanding of all aspects of the system solutions, capable of being the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all aspects of Hosted Services and Mobile Packet Data Networks. The Solution Architect must have peerless communications and documentation skills as this position requires both internal and customer interactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in all outbound RFIs/RFPs
- Driving partner relationships for software development and equipment
- Overseeing solution integration,
- Understanding technical components of 3G/4G packet core network
- Interfacing with service management,
- Creating Requirements specifications and Test Specifications
- Brain-storming with Incubation team members on new Product and Solution concepts
- Creating Solution Concept documents.
- Representing the Incubation team in terms of all inbound requirements interpretation and delivery
- Working closely with the Network Engineering team to create solutions,
- Reviewing all design requirements
- Guiding the evolution of network services
REQUIREMENTS
The Solution Architect must be strong in requirements methodology and requirements derivation with a solid understanding of relevant industry standards and techniques. The Solution Architect-Systems Engineer Candidate must have at least 8 years of working experience involving:
- 3GPP Packet Data Networks
- Mobile networking ; 2G/3G/LTE, IMS,
- Hosted Data Center Operations
o Scalable Server architecture
o Hypervisors
o EMS/NMS
o Database Solutions/Operations
o High Availability
- Telecommunications Operations
o Network Operations Center Best Practices
o Standard Operation Procedures
o Service Monitoring
- Billing Operations
- Data Networking: VPN, MPLS, TCP/IP, RTP.RTCP, SBC, SIP trunks.
- Strong focus on the application-level functionality (including mobile client and network server)
- Leads a team through expertise for most or all specific service/technology development and IT automation for the portfolio of products (Tx, VPN, Ethernet,IP)
- Lead service development projects that require providing experienced project team members with instruction, guidance and advice in all aspects of the project to ensure delivery of quality outcomes. Tactical role which provides a marked contribution to defining the direction of new products, processes, standards or operational plans based upon business strategy, with a significant mid term impact on business unit overall results.
- Identifies problems and significantly improves, changes or adapts existing processes, methods and techniques. Focus is on implementation, prioritization of crtitical projects and product strategy development.
- May have small to medium profit and loss responsibility (prepare AOP and capex/opex requirements)
- Education :Graduate in Engineering
- 8-10 years with exposure to Product Development.
- PMP certification is desirable
